COOKIE POLICY

Last updated: October 2026

This site uses no advertising, profiling or analytics cookies. What it does store is listed in full below.

1. Set by this website

This site sets no cookies of its own. It stores three entries in your browser's local storage, which never leave your device and which we have no way of reading:

lb-cookie-consent — records that you have dismissed the notice at the bottom of the screen, so it does not reappear on every visit.

lb-theme — remembers whether you chose the light or the dark version of the site.

lb-photo-density — remembers whether you last viewed a photo series in the compact or the large layout.

All three are strictly necessary for the site to behave as you left it, so under the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and POPIA they do not require your prior consent. You can delete them at any time through your browser settings.

2. Set by third parties

Vimeo.Videos are embedded from Vimeo. Two things limit what Vimeo can do here. First, a player is only loaded after you have allowed Vimeo in the notice at the bottom of the screen, and then only when you hover over a project or open a project page — nothing from Vimeo is requested when you simply arrive at the site. Second, every embed is requested with Vimeo's Do Not Track flag enabled, which instructs Vimeo not to place tracking cookies on your device and not to record the viewing session for analytics or advertising purposes.

Vimeo may still set cookies that are strictly necessary to play the video and to remember playback quality, and it necessarily receives your IP address in order to deliver the video stream. Details are in Vimeo's Cookie Policy.

If you would rather Vimeo received nothing at all, simply do not hover over or open a project — the rest of the site works without it. The preview images in the galleries are served from this site, not from Vimeo or any image service, so browsing alone contacts nobody.

3. Your choice

The notice at the bottom of the screen offers two answers, and the refusal does something real: until you allow them, no Vimeo player is requested at all. The reel on the homepage shows photographs instead of playing clips, and a film page shows its opening frame with a button, so you decide film by film whether Vimeo hears from you.

Nothing else is affected either way. The photography, the indexes and the text all work identically, because nothing else here involves anyone but us.

To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the notice will appear again.

4. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings at any time. Nothing on this site will stop working if you do.
